Devin Maroney
Therapist & Mindfulness Teacher
More than anything, I treasure the capacity of human beings to connect with themselves and others. Some call it awareness, some call it unconditional love, some call it friendship, the divine or Buddha nature. Whatever we call it, this capacity resides in all of us and it is the foundation for the therapeutic process and for peace of mind.

As a clinician, my goal is to help clients and students reconnect with and draw strength from the goodness in themselves as they cultivate positive behaviors and new perspectives on life. I have trained in Somatic Experiencing therapy for trauma resolution, Focusing Oriented Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I have a full time outpatient practice working with adults and young adults (16+) where I provide individual, family, and group therapy.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia. I earned a BA from the University of California – Santa Cruz, an MA in Education Policy from Columbia University, and an MSW from Catholic University.
In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I am a devoted student and teacher of mindfulness meditation in the early Buddhist tradition. I practice daily and attend silent retreats when I can. I have been teaching mindfulness since 2015 and serve as an affiliate teacher with the Insight Meditation Community of Washington.
